The fourth episode of Maisel‘s final season, “Susan”, gave us what the Sherman-Palladinos have wanted to show us the entire time – but haven’t been able to fit in yet: A full-on musical production complete with their trademark quirks and ridiculous meta-feeling observation that while they apparently really love musicals, they also know they are somewhat silly. While we may be in the minority of fans that actually enjoys the musicals they produce, we also missed the presence of a flash-forward in this episode. Plus, a crack in the armor hiding Susie’s backstory jumped in her path.
