The Masters: How Did it Become a Major?

The Masters is unique among golf's four majors, particularly because it's the only one not conducted by one of golf's major organizations. Instead it's put on by Augusta National, a private club built in Augusta, Georgia during the great depression. On today's episode, we'll examine how the tournament went from a fledgling local event to the spectacle it is today and answer the question of how it became a major.
