On November 22, 1987, television viewers in Chicago witnessed one of the strangest broadcast intrusions in American history. An unidentified person wearing a Max Headroom mask interrupted two television stations, producing bizarre footage that lasted only minutes before disappearing from the airwaves.

This episode examines how the intrusions happened, what viewers actually saw, the investigation that followed, and why identifying the people responsible proved so difficult. Despite decades of theories and amateur investigations, the perpetrators have never been publicly identified.
