This week on the San Marcos Scoop kickstarts the beginning of a new series where Exsar interviews the former mayors of San Marcos, discussing their thoughts on the state of the city and what life is like outside of public service.

To start the series, Exsar interviewed John Thomaides, who was Mayor from 2016 to 2018. Thomaides is the third longest serving public official in the city's history, spending 13 years as a councilmember before elected Mayor.

Exsar and John discussed topics like growth, jobs, regrets and life outside of politics.

Throughout the coming months, be on the lookout for the upcoming episodes in the series where Exsar sits down with individuals who once had the key to the city.
