The Mays Landing Train Wreck, which occurred on August 11, 1880, is one of the most significant yet historically "hidden" tragedies in New Jersey’s history. It took place on a wooden trestle bridge over the Great Egg Harbor River.
I may have gotten the wrong date but I still find this to be a very interesting story I hope you enjoy.
