The Meaning of Labor Day

We gladly grab any opportunity for a holiday and time away from work!

Labor Day (also known as May Day in some parts of the world) is one such day in the calendar that we look forward to – having an extended weekend, potentially taking the entire week off to go on holiday or simply relax.

But what truly is Labor Day?  How did it come to be? Most importantly, what lessons can we Muslims take from this “holiday” and offer solutions from Islam.
