Dr. Baxter teachers Great Books at the University of Notre Dame. He writes on the relevance of medieval thought and literature, and, especially, medieval theology and Dante. In his popular writing and lectures, he talks about the arts, travel and literature, technology and humanism, science and culture, and modernity in light of the ancient world. He is the author of numerous books, including An Introduction to Christian Mysticism, The Infinite Beauty of the World: Dante's Encyclopedia and the Names of God, Falling Inward: Humanities in the Age of Technology, A Beginner's Guide to Dante's Divine Comedy, and, most recently, The Medieval Mind of CS Lewis: How Great Books Shaped a Great Mind.
