My vacation from the day-to-day political realm largely continues.  I mull a recently noticed language rule and the implacable gay lobby before settling on a piece by Victor Davis Hanson that I had overlooked a few years ago.  I then take his advice to "remember the good dead" by telling the story of Cornelius Vanderbilt.
