When was the last time you stepped outside with no phone, no music, and no agenda... just you and nature?
In this episode of The Melanated Mindset, we’re getting grounded... literally. We’re exploring grounding (earthing), spending time in nature, stress relief, mindfulness, and holistic wellness, and why reconnecting with the Earth may be more important to our well-being than we realize.
I’m sharing my own experience rediscovering my connection to nature, what a sunset yoga session made me realize, and why sometimes the wellness practice you need most is the simplest one: go touch some grass. 🌱
And yes, there’s a little survival-story chaos involved. Including the camping trip that ended with a tent full of screaming New Yorkers. 😂

Your challenge this week: get outside. Feel the sun. Touch the grass. Take a walk. Sit under a tree. Put the phone down and remember that you are part of nature, not separate from it.
Maybe if we charged our bodies as often as we charge our phones, we wouldn’t feel so energetically depleted.

What does it really mean to regulate your nervous system? In this episode of The Melanated Mindset, we’re talking about nervous system regulation, chronic stress, cortisol, the mind-body connection, and holistic wellness. As well as how living in survival mode can affect the way we experience our bodies, emotions, and everyday lives.
I’m also getting personal about my PCOS diagnosis, the stress of navigating my health journey, and why learning to regulate my nervous system has become such an important part of my wellness journey.

This week’s challenge: check in with your nervous system. Are you actually thriving or have you gotten so comfortable surviving that chaos feels like normal?

What if the reason you feel disconnected from yourself… is because you’re TOO connected to everyone else?
In this episode, we’re talking dopamine, social media, digital overstimulation, and what happens when our brains never really get a chance to be still. I’m breaking down what dopamine actually does, why the popular idea of a “dopamine detox” isn’t quite as literal as it sounds, and how we can start changing our relationship with the things that keep us constantly stimulated.
Because sometimes the problem isn’t that you don’t know what you want.
It’s that you’ve been consuming so much information, content, comparison, and noise that you can’t hear yourself clearly enough to know what you want.
And that brings us right back to Tunnel Vision…
Are these goals actually mine, or did I learn to want them from everything I’m constantly consuming?
This episode is your reminder that grounding doesn’t always mean going somewhere beautiful or doing something profound. Sometimes it means putting the phone down. Going outside. Sitting with yourself. Reading a book. Journaling. Moving your body. Having an actual conversation. Letting your nervous system experience something other than more.

How much time are you actually spending on your screens?
This episode dives into the research behind social media, brain activity, overstimulation, and the growing conversation around our relationship with technology.

No judgment. Just information.
Then ask yourself: What would change if I gave myself some of that attention back?
Because maybe you don't need another productivity hack.
Maybe you just need to stop letting every app have access to you. 🌱

Believe it or not, sometimes the best way to get clearer vision is simply by closing your eyes. 👁🏾✨
What if getting where you want to go starts with actually seeing it first?
In this episode of The Melanated Mindset™, we’re talking visualization, manifestation, meditation, journaling, goal setting, and intentional living. On top of how these practices can help you get clear on what you truly want.
From vision boards and phone screensavers to scripting, mind mapping, gratitude journaling, and meditation, we’re exploring different ways to turn your inner vision into intentional action.
But clarity isn’t always about figuring out how to get what you want. Sometimes, it’s about getting quiet enough to figure out what you actually want—especially when family, relationships, and society have their own ideas about who you should become.
For me, visualization has become a foundational part of my wellness practice. So consider this your reminder to stop casually thinking about your goals and start SEEING them.
Close your eyes. Get quiet. Picture the life you’re creating.
And then?
Lock in.
🎯 THE ASSIGNMENT: Create the vision. Journal it. Meditate on it. And give yourself permission to develop some tunnel vision for the life you actually want.

We all got 99 problems… but guess what? Climate change is number one. 🌎
Last week, we talked about alignment as the foundation of holistic wellness. This week, we’re zooming out to explore the connection between personal wellbeing and the health of our planet.
In this episode of The Melanated Mindset™, we’re unpacking climate change, global warming, environmental wellness, overconsumption, conscious consumerism, sustainability, and our collective responsibility to the Earth.
We’ll explore how the climate crisis is already affecting our communities, resources, travel, and future. Together, we'll question the consumer culture encouraging us to buy more than we need:
"Do I actually want this... or did somebody convince me that I need it?"
This conversation isn't about guilt. It's about becoming more intentional consumers and recognizing what the problems of our planet are. So collectively, we can make our way towards solutions. We’ll reflect on what it means to witness environmental change firsthand. Through personal experiences all the way from the Rocky Mountains to the Panama Canal.
As always, we'll bring it home with a simple wellness practice. And this time? To help strengthen our connection to ourselves and the Earth. Through grounding.
Because sometimes reconnecting with yourself starts with reconnecting with the world beneath your feet.

What if the reason you feel stuck, restless, overwhelmed, or disconnected isn’t because you’re failing...but because something in your life is simply out of alignment?
In this episode of The Melanated Mindset™, we’re getting to the root of holistic wellness, personal growth, purpose, and intentional living aka alignment.
I’m taking you behind the scenes of Season 5. Back when I was stressed, anxious, questioning my purpose, and trying to figure out how all the pieces of my life were supposed to fit together. The truth? I was spending so much energy worrying about what could happen that I wasn’t present enough to deal with what was happening.
That realization led me to Ikigai, the Japanese concept often described as a reason for being, and ultimately helped me identify the areas of my life that needed realignment the most: career, location, and relationships.
We’re talking about what happens when your career no longer feels connected to your purpose, how major life transitions can force you to reconsider what you actually want, why where you live can affect your sense of possibility and belonging, and how relationships change when you begin building a life that is truly aligned with your values.
I’m also sharing the wellness practices that helped me reconnect with myself, including yoga, journaling, meditation, reflection, and creating intentional space to hear my own voice again.
Getting into alignment is only the first step. The real assignment is learning how to stay there.

After years away from the mic, The Melanated Mindset™ is back and this time, we’re approaching personal growth through the lens of holistic wellness, self-discovery, healing, and intentional living.
For everyone who lost their spark, got lost in the pursuit of purpose, or felt their light dimmed by circumstances beyond their control... this episode is your reminder to find your way back.
In this season opener, I’m sharing what it really looked like to step away, question everything, release control, and reconnect with myself. From navigating major life transitions to entering my thirties and moving through my Saturn Return, this chapter has taught me that becoming your best self isn’t about controlling every detail of your life—it’s about learning how to fully show up for the life you’re creating.
We’re also redefining what this community can be: a space where you can show up exactly as you are, reconnect with your innermost self, and explore the physical, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of holistic wellness.
This season, expect honest conversations about life, purpose, healing practices, wellness, self-care, spirituality, personal development, and the lessons that come with becoming.
