Not for everyone, but very cute!
The Melancholy Princess is a very cute, short story. The follows a princess who just can't find what she is looking for in life. Will she be able to find herself, and maybe a little love along the way?
This was written in a sort of Renaissance/Shakespearean timed vocabulary and dialogue, but much simpler than actual Shakespeare. It's very charming, and I enjoyed it, but if you are the type of person who doesn't like that kind of thing, I wouldn't suggest this.
I really loved the fairy tale type aspect to this story. It was so sweet and more of a fairy tale for juvenile fiction and up. I would probably recommend it most to young adults however, as it is a slightly more mature vocabulary.
Overall, it is just an adorable little tale, and I would love to read the other 8 princess tales that accompany it!
Fun Story, worth the read!
It is very short, yet the premise and characterizations were well done. The descriptions of the people and the forest were well done. It might take 30 minutes to read, so be aware it is very short. However it was cute, well planned out, and, oddly, it was not missing anything in the story. It was complete, even though it was short. I'd say that was very good authorship. Also, (since I harp on this a lot, it was well edited. No odd words pulled up in spell-check, and no grammar errors. The ending was fun. I liked it. What can I say? It was perfect to read while riding into town. I imagine the other books in the series are short as well, and I intend to collect them. If they are anything like book 1 it will be well worth it.
Thank you too our Author Sheela, Word. Good Job!!
At least it was free
This book just wasn't all that great, to be honest.
First of all, it doesn't finish wrap up the story when it ends, and my guess is that you'll have to read all 9 stories consecutively to be satisfied with the series. Secondly, I just found it all a bit... predictable, and unrealistic. honestly, while being cute, I just don't think that I'd recommend it to anyone unless you'll willing to read all of the books, and be a bit bored by the flat characters.
Wonderful Book
This is a very good short story. I loved it.
Fairy tale
This was an awesome tale, short and sweet, and perfect! Took me back to my childhood and the stories I loved then.
