God's Unbreakable Plan: Despite Jacob's deceit ("No sin is too big to destroy God's plan"), God appears to him in a dream and reiterates the Abrahamic Covenant, promising to be with him and make him a great nation.
The Pillar of Promise: Jacob sets up the stone he slept on as a pillar at Bethel (House of God), vowing that if God keeps His promise, then the Lord will be his God.
Providence is Sure: Later, after being blessed with a large family and wealth, Jacob returns and names the place El-Bethel (God of the House of God), realizing that God's providence and promises are sure. The speaker stresses that no mistake puts a believer past God's hand.
