The final episode of the year #6! Sam and Laura invited Mount Sinai's BSEP Instructor and favorite Science Research teacher: Dr. Hossein Aleyasin! We were able to talk to Hossein about how to understand the psychology and neuropsychiatry of stress and coping mechanisms amidst widespread struggles of communication, self-reliance, and honesty in multiple settings ( school and professional ). We also talked about the prevalence of AI and how that impacts the need for human connection and accessibility/necessity of therapy! So basically, we talked about a little bit of "everything"! It’s normal to wonder about the future, but also dwell on what you could have done differently. What’s important is that you are here NOW! Sometimes, you have to lose to gain! Our first episode! Burnout can affect anyone, and one of the most courageous steps you can take is asking for help. Whether you are listening as a student or not, you do not need to prove anything to anyone. Working while simultaneously sacrificing your health is not worth risking, regardless of how important school or work can be to us. It's difficult, to say the least! We don’t always give ourselves more credit for it, but any effort is still effort :) Thank you for all your support and we hope you enjoy! Let's burn the burnout!
