Good morning, it's Tuesday, September 3rd. I’m Crystal Orren and here are today's headlines from the Mercury News. It’ll be mostly sunny in San Jose today, with a high of 83. Tonight, it’ll be mostly clear, with a low of 61. Our top story is: A crane used in BART track work near the Lafayette station clipped power lines yesterday morning. It caused them to fall and it shut down westbound Highway 24 for about an hour. It also left hundreds of homes in the area without power.
