Elisha was hesitant to leave his comfortable life behind, but he eventually followed Elijah and became his loyal servant. Elisha was to be Elijah’s replacement as God’s prophet to Israel.

We are challenged by today’s reading to decide whether we want to look at the world through the lens of Elisha’s servant who basically says: “Not enough!” or the lens of the man of God, Elisha who seems to say:” Go ahead anyway!”
