An uplifting song that came to me whilst locking eyes with a red-breasted robin. I wrote the lyrics in a few minutes and later learned they were totally in line with the symbolic meaning of robins throughout time. I have always heard birds be described as 'God's Messenger', and now I know that robins specifically are known to symbolise protection and reassurance during times of great change. The message of this song is indeed that you are not alone; that strength, support, connection, and hope is with you.

As the robin pecked into the feed

With it’s rust-feathered chest,

My heart expanded.

To put attention

On the daily beauty

The robin looked across at me

As if sensing the unfamiliar presence.

But there was nothing but love in it’s eyes.

“There’s room for one more”,

It said, without a sound.

And I smiled,

Without moving my mouth.

Tears trickled into our stare.

And I filled with hope.

I no longer felt alone.
