It’s the ever so micro in the Microaggressions that the white construct of the workplace will have you believe that you are ‘too sensitive’ or ‘can’t take a joke’. White people have found a way of gaslighting black women into believing we are over dramatising the violent nature of their racism. The questions and conversations loaded with racial discrimination, not too obvious but clear enough for us to know and understand ‘our place’ or that they are ‘in charge’. Their aim, to perpetuate their racial prejudice and hold onto and protect the privilege of white supremacy provided to them by their ancestors. Let us also not ignore the microaggressions from Asian people and other non-black people who often only stand with us when it benefits. Black People continue the journey of liberation and black education this includes confronting Microaggressions and understanding what practical skills are required in the workplace when confronting the ‘Micro in Microaggressions’.
