Financial terms have also been streamlined, swapping complex revenue-sharing for predictable caps and fixed dates. It’s a strategic pivot from a defensive alliance to a more mature, open cooperation. While they are still building custom silicon and data centers together, OpenAI now has the passport to travel beyond Microsoft's walls, potentially reshuffling the entire AI competitive landscape.
