First up is the youngest 4-H member in the studio, Helen Curtis, who is showing a Dairy Feeder. Helen started 4-H as a clover bud and has shown different animals over the years. She also has participated in other competitions like cooking and sewing. You will be amazed at her composure as she shares her enthusiasm toward 4-H. Next is Sophia Nielsen, 19, who also has been active starting as a clover bud (age 5-7) and is showing both Dairy Cows and Beef Steers. Learn how Sophia got involved with these animals and how she prepares the animals for the fair. Finally, Elanor Backhaus, 16 shares her story about Chickens which is what she is showing at the fair. She is also competing in other contests showing off her capability to draw pencil art and, like the others, has been active in 4-H since clover bud days! The primary concern is there are health issues that don't exist in Michigan but do exist elsewhere. How do you avoid them and how do you teach your pets to avoid them? First up is Ben Shakespeare with Arizona Rattle Snake Aversion. Rattle snakes are in multiple states and Michigan dogs don't know them or the rattle sound. Ben teaches dogs to avoid them VERY quickly so even travelers can learn. Next up is Sally Babbitt. She was the idea person behind this show having gone camping in Florida with her Great Danes. One of them contracted a VERY rare disease and had to be put to sleep after returning. When you hear the story, you will understand why this is so important. Finally Sean Murphy returns. As a former reptile zookeeper at the Tampa Zoo, Sean gives advice on avoiding alligators and snakes in Southern states which can pounce on your pet faster then they can escape.
