Johnny Dollar #193, "The Milk And Honey Matter," Johnny Dollar travels to Beirut, Lebanon to investigate a suspicious yacht sinking worth $90,000. Brett Cunningham's yacht, the Happy Time, allegedly went down in calm weather and a smooth sea after striking a derelict, sinking in just three minutes. Dollar finds the impossibly tall and carefree Cunningham at the Estuaita, a swank gambling casino, more interested in his winning streak and his latest brunette companion than answering questions. When pressed about how a yacht could sink so quickly under such favorable conditions with only two survivors out of a crew of eight, Cunningham brushes him off with a flippant explanation.
Undeterred, Johnny turns to Port Commissioner Floreau, who provides the official report but little in the way of satisfying answers. The Commissioner reveals that Cunningham is a frequent visitor to Beirut with no known source of income, spending his time gambling and changing female companions with each visit. With debris found, the derelict destroyed by gunfire, and the yacht resting in seventy fathoms of water, the facts seem straightforward, but Johnny's instincts tell him something doesn't add up about this milk and honey paradise.
