The Million Dollar Beard Saving Lives with Jimmy Niggles, CEO of Beard Season
Melanoma accounts for about 1% of all skin cancer cases, but the vast majority of skin cancer deaths. And contrary to the common belief, melanoma affects men and women of all ages.
In this podcast episode, Marni will be speaking with Jimmy Niggles, CEO and Co-Founder of Beard Season.
Beard Season started from a fun challenge between mates and has grown into what it is today. A lot of this was because Jimmy decided to keep his beard after the first winter following his close friend's death due to melanoma.
Their mission is to champion the early detection of melanoma - the deadliest form of skin cancer. Thus, Jimmy's goal is to sell his beard for million-dollar to fund the world’s first national skin check program.
Over the course of eight long years, he has taken Beard Season from a ‘side project’ and turned it into a sustainable, highly impactful, life-saving charity. As of November 2018, Jimmy became the movement’s official CEO.
