I was thinking of an incident that occurred during the presidential primary in 2016. I’d gone bass fishing about an hour before dark. I didn’t hear a car, train, or airplane the entire time. The 1000 acres of uninhabited red clay hills pine wonderland surrounding me shielded all noises from the outside world. There was a slight cool breeze and the temperature was perfect and I was happy as a clam on a full tide.
