Prof Subramanian is the Professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Ophthalmology at the UC Health Sue Anschutz Rodgers Eye Center/Dept of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado.

In this episode, Dr Neil Shuey discusses pertinent points from his talk (Neurovision 2017, Sydney) on Functional Visual Loss (FVL) with Dr Anneke van der Walt. Functional neurological disorders require a systematic approach in order to avoid misdiagnosis, but also to confirm the positive symptoms and signs associated with it. We discuss a management strategy centred around careful and sensitive disclosure of the diagnosis to the patient.

Professor Newman discusses key points from her talk on Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy. Professor Biousse provides an update and key management prinicipals on idiopathic intracranial hypertension.

Dr Anneke van der Walt and Dr Neil Shuey interviews A/Prof Steffen Hamann about the diagnosis, complications and management of optic nerve head drusen. A/Prof Hamann is attached to the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and a neuro-ophthalmologist with interests in optic nerve disease, pupillary disorders. He divides his time between research, teaching and clinical care.

A/Prof Hamann discusses the current understanding of drusen pathophysiology, the use of new technology to aid diagnosis, differentiation from papiloedema, and management.
