EXCERPT: I think in Spirit-filled environments, where worship is powerful and we experience the Gifts of the Spirit, we tend to forget just how powerful the Word of God is. We forget that the Word is supernatural.

Paul says, “So now, brethren, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified” (Acts 20:32).

We’ve been speaking a lot about spiritual gifts but let me say this. If you are weak in the Word of God, you will be a weak Christian. If you are strong in the Word, you’ll be a strong Christian. Examine your habits concerning the Word. If you don’t know how to read or study the Bible, ask someone. Make it a priority. The knowledge of God that comes through the Scriptures is not optional for the Christian. Be saturated in God’s Word.

Read the Word aloud, and speak the Word aloud. It will minister faith to your spirit; it will build up your faith. It will create confidence and boldness in your heart.
