In 1940, with England facing what seemed to be certain and imminent defeat, Prime Minister Winston Churchill called for a National Day of Prayer. With their backs against the wall, about seventy percent of the British people showed up at the churches to pray. God answered their prayer and what happened became known as the miracle at Dunkirk.

Three hundred thousand troops were spared and the tide of the battle began to turn against the fermenting evil of that time. May God give you and I the sense and the courage to humble ourselves and pray again. That’s why 2 Chronicles 7:14 starts with these words, “If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray.“
