The first beginning began with these words: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). We were informed by that this first beginning was "very good" (Genesis 1:31). Well, what happened? What happened was something that this world, in all its wisdom, still does not understand. God's "very good" creation became lost in sin. Ouch! No wonder we have so many problems!

God is now offering the world a new beginning. This new beginning is being born again in Jesus Christ. The Apostle John gave us a rare glimpse into the life of Jesus. John connected the first beginning with the new beginning by opening up his account of Jesus in this way: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God" (John 1:1). May God's new beginning spread as more people become born again in Christ.
