In 2:1-10 Paul showed how God’s grace reconciled us to Him. Now in verses 11 and following we are shown how that reconciliation is not only vertical but also horizontal. No place was the need for reconciliation more vivid than the schism that existed between Jew and Gentile, and no place was the effect of the Gospel more profound apart from salvation than the unity of Jew and Gentile in the church.
