Our mission requires a…

1) Priority of Prayer

Psalm 127:1 Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

Zechariah 4:6, Then he said to me, “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.

2) Consistency of Prayer 

1 Timothy 2:2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people,

Prayer must be continual and passionate because we are warned…

Ephesians 6:12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.

3) Opportunity of Prayer - 37 …“The harvest is plentiful…

Col 4:2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

4:3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

4:5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

Matthew 9 the disciples are praying

Matthew 10 the disciples are being sent out

v5-7 These twelve Jesus sent out, instructing them, “...go to the lost sheep….saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

The disciples became the answer to their own prayers!

Isaiah 6:8 And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here I am! Send me.”
