The Mixed Crips chat with Andy about her experience with hospital stays, health care workers, advocates, loved ones and all things in-between! This is a conversation that will shock you at points but it is open and has laughter in it as well.
Andrea (Andy) Junior is a 41-year-old (at the time of the recording, 42 at the time of release) quadriplegic who’s now been sitting longer than she ever stood, thanks to a car accident that rudely ended her vertical lifestyle at 15.
She mostly has her life together. By day, she’s a freelance graphic and web designer under Built With Sticks - a name inspired by the pencils strapped to her hands that help her type.
But when she’s not pushing pixels, she’s pushing her luck, burning through her nine lives and collecting all the firsthand experience needed to talk about the chaotic reality of having a spinal cord injury in the hospital.
Recorded April 8/25
