The Moon: The keeper of our secrets

Listen Later

In this episode, Mel & Jay discuss some of the full moon and new moon rituals they do to embrace the power of the moon.

Ritual Purpose:  Create change on a subconscious level.
Remember, there are no specific rules.  Make it your own.

The Full Moon = Time to release what is no longer serving you.  Time to let go.  This is a great time to get still and check in with yourself.

Full Moon ritual suggestions mentioned in the episode:

  • Burning sage / palo santo to cleanse your space (make sure it’s ethically sourced)
  • Write down what you want to release / let go of on tissue paper (or environmentally friendly, on a leaf or rock) and release it into the water
  • break a geode

The New Moon = The phase of the moon where the moon and sun align.  It's the beginning of a new lunar cycle.  A great time for going inward, self reflection, setting intentions and goals that you want to accomplish or invite into your life.

New Moon ritual suggestions mentioned in the episode:

  • Create space for what you want to invite in - Write down intentions, and put them on an alter
  •  or plant them in the soil of a new plant where they can be watered and nurtured consistently

Other rituals mentioned:
Meditation (outside if the weather permits)
Journaling
Sage / palo santo (ethically sourced)
Charging crystals with salt water  / in the full moon
