This is the unabridged version of my homily for Sunday, September 6, 2020. At Mass, I left out most of my further explanation of the moral principles involved. This was difficult for me since canon law and moral theology are my weak points, but I keep seeing people saying things that aren't true, that I gave it a shot. I hope that I did not make things too confusing or misapply the involved principles. By showing nuance, I don't meant to say we can't come to conclusions. I even have to admit that I don't get into all the possibilities, because that would be more confusing than useful.
