Seriously, validate this yourself (perhaps using yourself as the example!) A not-very-bright person when asked how to get to somewhere will paradoxically give more information (often involving events involving inbred relatives) than a more intelligent person (who will often just demand you use a computer yourself!) This demonstrates that the deepest parts of the brain involved in memory are those relating story, location, and memory.
