In the year between November 1966 to December 1967, the residents in the region of West Virginia around Point Pleasant had witnessed a large gray creature about 6-7 feet tall, it had glowing red eyes and had wings that spanned 7 to 10 feet wide. There were reported to be over 100 sightings of this creature later named the Mothman. In December of 1967 the sightings seemed to ultimately cease upon the collapse of the Silver Bridge in Point Pleasant which resulted in the tragic deaths of 46 people.
