Description:

This 4th EP of Season 5 of the Motions Podcast is a Journey of Emotion and Unity. I attempted to weave together tracks that tell a captivating tale featuring memorable beats and harmonic melodies. I began this mix with the poignant “Nautilus” by Bob James and soon followed “Why Can’t We Live Together” by Timmy Thomas, a song from the past that served as an underground anthem for racial harmony. Its soulful melody and thought-provoking lyrics set the stage for an emotional journey that will resonate deeply. Next, I blended in the hauntingly beautiful track, “Is It Because I’m Black” by Syl Johnson, with its raw emotion and unapologetic honesty. To lighten the mood, I introduce “Deeper” by New Birth, this solid R&B remix invites you to the dancefloor. You’ll hear “Lay It Down” with an infectious rhythm and Omar’s soulful vocals. To keep things moving forward, I added some BANG with the amazing DJ/Producer Robert Ortiz’ unreleased treat “Lonely Heart Reload.” This FIRE track reminds listeners that House Music brings aged music back to Life. It is my wish that the Podcast reminds everyone that no matter how diverse our backgrounds or experiences may be, we all share one common thread: love for good music.
