On this weeks episode of The Motive Podcast is Matt Fiddes, a respected expert in the international world of martial arts, fitness, and entrepreneurship.
Matt first discovered a talent for martial arts at seven years old after being bullied at school. Five years later, he won his Black Belt. Leaving school at sixteen with no qualifications, Matt opened the first Matt Fiddes Martial Arts School in Barnstaple, North Devon, with just £100 in savings. Within no time, he had over 700 members and it became the largest martial arts school in the UK.
Matt’s unique life skill and educational programs have been a massive success, with over 1500 MF schools across the UK/Europe, including Ireland, Germany, Holland, Australia, and South Africa. He holds a 7th Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and Black Belts in Kickboxing and Kung Fu.
Matt has numerous celebrity clients, including the late Michael Jackson, whom he served as a personal bodyguard and friend for over a decade. In addition to martial arts, Matt launched “MF Dance,” offering street dance programs worldwide. He has collaborated with Boxercise and Kick boxercise, leading to the opening of over 2000 new MF locations in 54 countries.

April 03, 2024 ROAD TO RECOVERY | Terry Dunnage
Terry Dunnage was set alight by his uncle in Paignton, Devon 2007. His uncle subsequently died in the fire whilst Terry survived by jumping out of a window.
However things changed forever and Terry spent the next 3 months of his life in a coma fighting for his life.
Further battles of immense proportions were to follow and it ended with Terry wanting to end it all. Fast forward 17 years and Terry is on the road to recovery and helping others who are in a similar position to what he was.
He has showed incredible resilience and his story is truly amazing.

March 06, 2024 I'M ALIVE BECAUSE I'M LUCKY | James Wells
At the age of 21, James was diagnosed with Acute Myloid Leukaemia and underwent five months of intensive chemotherapy.
Determined to resume training for the sport he loved, James began the road to physical recovery as soon as he achieved remission. Within a few days of returning home he was back in the gym and immediately returned to university to complete his final year of studies.
He did all this, despite being advised it would take three-to-six months to recover from treatment.
