A grumbling and complaining spirit in effect denies God's sovereignty over life and will keep you from fully living into God's promises for an abundant life.

Joy is a settled condition of your heart and soul that responds to external circumstances with contentment, knowing that the battle is already won, and everything is for your good.

Therefore, the opposite of joy is discontentment.
