Consciousness development is an area that all too often gets bogged down with a whole lot of theory, and not a lot of practice. After great success with his popular graphic novel on Métis leader Louis Riel in Canada, author Chester Brown took his work in a decidedly different direction, shocking and alienating many of his fans with the release of 'Paying for It,' an autobiographical graphic novel depicting his life paying for sex with prostitutes.

Chester's chosen lifestyle, rejecting romantic relationships to pursue a long-term exclusive (paying) relationship with a sex worker, brings up interesting questions about the nature of love and the responsibilities (or chains) that may come with it. And Chester's latest graphic novel, 'Mary Wept Over the Feet of Jesus,' brings up some even more interesting questions about prostitution in the bible.

We start by discussing his process as a graphic novelist. We then go on to talk about his life as a john, how he got into paying for sex, and where it's led him today. We then have a discussion/debate on the ethics and legality of prostitution, touching on many surprising angles to this controversial topic. Finally, we discuss prostitution in the bible, a favorite topic of Chester's, and what it might tell us about God and morality.

The US Federal Reserve ("the Fed") is putting out a coronavirus rescue package- but is it really going to help, or sink the economy?

The Federal Reserve, the massive, mysterious organization at the heart of the global financial system, has just issued a ton of new money and pumped it into the economy as a response to the Covid-19 crisis. The plan is to "unfreeze" the economy and prevent a lockdown which would devastate individuals and companies alike. But over the long-term, could this kind of rescue package do more harm than good?

In this fun, informative, and often mind-boggling episode, we sit down with Victoria Guida, a financial policy reporter at Politico, to hear the inside scoop on the Fed's response to the global pandemic.

Incels, or "involuntary celibates", make up an online subculture of primarily straight men who, for one reason or another, consider themselves unable to attract a mate.

Peering inside incel forums reveals an dark, ideological world characterized by self loathing or self pity, hopelessness, misanthropy, misogyny, and racism. Incels who have taken the "black pill" believe that they have accepted deep, uncomfortable 'truths' about genetic determinism, 'female nature, and their impacts on society, while the rest of us are living in a "blue pilled" or "red pilled" fantasies.
