Data shows that the largest company in the HDD industry is also the worstperforming. Last year, HDD shipments plummeted by as much as 43.7% for Seagateand by almost as much for WDC, 43.0%. By 2022, however, Toshiba was not immuneto the market downturn, with HDD shipments decreasing by as much as 39.3percent year over year (YoY).In addition, industry shipments dropped as muchas 42.5% annually to around 35-36 million products. According to Trendfocus,the decline in demand from enterprise cloud storage providers is the largestproblem HDD storage manufacturers face right now.

The company was praised by many for its quick solution to the problem andthey even had entire orders booked out as soon as the cables were listed forretail & pre-orders.
However, as with the standard 12VHPWR cables, even CableMod's cables canburn up if they aren't connected properly.
It would really have sucked if the card was damaged because the GigabyteGeForce RTX 4090 is a super-expensive card that retails around $2000 US.CableMod was quick to respond to this issue and has asked the customer to reachout to their tech support and that they will make it right with the affecteduser. Furthermore, CableMod says if their cables would've damaged the card,they'd offer a replacement as they have done so in the past (in very rarecases).

While this sounds promising, Igorslabuncovered nine to eleven percent of reported RMA cases between consumers, AMD,and their partners. Wallossek is one of the 11% working on getting thereplacement.The underlying message that is being placed by several sources is that thequality of the products shipping out to consumers is a problem. We all wantproducts to work as intended when they are sold off the shelf, and we don'twant to jump through several hoops because the product never worked correctlybefore shipment.
