In the morning of September 20, 1986, a 28-year-old Jane Marie Prichard, makes her way into the Delaware states Blackbird Forest. A recent graduate of botany, she continued her field work in the final stages of a master’s degree. Attending a familiar spot within the forest she continues her work studying the germination of seeds. In the area that shared with hikers and campers, it was not uncommon to sight others using the pathways and admiring the beauty held within the trees. It was later that day 2 campers did exactly that. Noticing Jane’s equipment, they then saw her laying nearby on the ground. Unresponsive to their calls, the campers move closer, only to discover that Jane was dead.
