On January 10, 2011, the newly married McAreavey’s arrived at the Lux hotel and inquired about a possible accommodation upgrade. As there was still space, the two were granted an upgrade and they headed towards the honeymoon suite section of the resort, key card in hand to room 1025.

Dropping off their property, they headed towards the resort’s poolside restaurant, the Banyan, whilst basking in the beautiful sun rays during a wildly hot summer, watching the passing clouds go by. After lunch, Michaela would leave her husband, John, in search of some biscuits. 

This would be the last time John would see Michaela alive.
