On October 15th, 2019, the tranquility of the 4500 block of FM 148 was shattered for Peggy Wright, a 78-year-old woman preparing to leave for work. As she opened her door, a sudden confrontation unfolded. A woman wielding a gun forced her way inside, tying Peggy up and ransacking her home before setting it ablaze, leaving Peggy to perish in the flames.
Thankfully, vigilant neighbors spotted the smoke and called for help, leading to Peggy's rescue and transport to the hospital. Despite her injuries, Peggy bravely recounted the harrowing events, providing a crucial description of her attacker. Yet, tragically, Peggy succumbed to her injuries in April 2020, leaving behind a void in her community and unanswered questions.
As the days turned into years, the composite sketch of the assailant loomed large, a haunting reminder of justice left unfulfilled. The memory of Peggy's resilience and the pursuit of the truth remained steadfast, urging investigators and the community to continue the search for the elusive perpetrator.
