Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. Welcome to Raven's Readings.
I will be reading to you from The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, written by Agatha Christie in 1926. It is her fourth to feature Hercule Poirot as the lead detective. There will be at least one murder. There will be clues, interspersed with blind alleys and red herrings, so pay attention and see if you can guess “who dun-it”. And once we reach the end, with its surprising twist – of course – think back on how Christie skilfully got us to that point. Episode one is two chapters long, and will introduce some characters, outline the setting, and of course drop a few clues.
I do readings twice a week. If you subscribe to my Substack newsletter, you'll get notified of my updates as soon as they are ready. If you enjoy this reading or have other classics you'd like to hear, please leave a comment. My next reading will be The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, by Agatha Christie.
Remember that you can manage here which sections of my SubStack you’ll receive emails for—Fiction, Odds and Ends, Political Bytes, Podcastings, Sort of a Journal, or all.
