“How’d you find me?” asked the man in the shadows. He rolled the bottom part of his black mask up to the bridge of his nose, and put a vape to his lips before taking a deep drag. For the first time since his proximity alarms were tripped, the man could relax. “Thought it was Syndicate...”
“Cut the shit Jack, you wanted to be found.” Said the interloper: a woman: hot, with short yellow hair, glasses and a bright yellow business suit.
Jack puffed out a cloud of vape, “Jack? Never thought you’d call me that again..”
“Old habits…” replied the hot woman.
Jack grunted, “Listen Cait-”
“Madam. CEO.” replied the woman “Not Cait, you don’t get to call me that, not anymore..”
“Look Cai-...Madam CEO. I’ve done a lot of things I regret but-”
She cut him off, “I’m sure you have, I'm not here for me, I’m here for the company.”
Jack sighed, exhaling ghostly clouds through his exposed nostrils.
“It’s Musk.” Cait said, “Kenny Press Acquisitions wants to move on Tesla and we think there's an opportunity. In a few days time, Musk is set to have a product reveal for consumers and shareholders alike.”
“And what, you want me to kill the guy?”
“No, *we* need you to...work your magic. Make a fool out of him, sabotage, do whatever it is you deem necessary. We need those stock prices to plummet.”
Cait pulled out a dossier and handed it to Jack, “Included is a file on the head Event Planner, subdue him, seduce him, pay him off, whatever, just make him disappear and his exit will be your ticket in. If you can do this for us...”
“Save it.” said Jack “ I don't need a carrot on a stick. I’ll do it, for you...Madam CEO.”
Cait nodded, smiled sadly and made to leave, out of the door, out of Jack’s life again just as suddenly as she came, before she crossed the threshold however, she paused and said, “Everything you need should be in the dossier. God speed… The Masked Magician.” And then she was gone.
