25-year old Grad Student Jelani Day was reported missing on August 25th 2021 after he failed to show up to class, a meeting, and remained unreachable to his family.  His loved ones knew this was very unlike Jelani to not be in contact with anyone or handle his responsibilities. But a little over a week later into the searches for him Jelani’s body was discovered in the Illinois River… 60 miles away from his campus.
