Faith in his power to do it seems really rather important to Jesus when it comes to the people he heals in the gospel. One of the most intriguing recipients of supernatural healing in Luke’s gospel is the woman ‘with the issue of blood’ (as she’s commonly known) and this passage shows us so much more than it might first appear. Jesus doesn’t just heal her, he also makes some incredible statements about the things he’s coming to change. There’s no way to avoid the fact that there’s an enormous amount of mystery involved in supernatural healing today but we do know some things for sure: Jesus heals. And he calls us all of us to be a part of this. We’ve seen too many miraculous healings to believe otherwise.
