Unforgiveness is the logical response to wrong done against us. Repaying evil to our enemies is what comes naturally to us. When the hurt runs deep, it's difficult to look beyond the pain and see as Christ sees. Oh what joy that Christ did not take this path. God's love was so scandalous, in fact, that He sent His Son, Jesus, to die in our place "while we were yet sinners," as the Bible puts it. In the midst of our sin, in the midst of our rebellion and hostility towards God, He chose to extend grace and forgiveness. Will you receive that forgiveness, that scandalous grace, that is always available and abundant? There is nothing you can do to make God love you more, and there is nothing you can do to make Him love you less. And God wants to make that love known to you.
