Mental health is not just more accepted in mainstream circles, it's practically trendy to have a therapist now. Same goes with spirituality - I mean, you have your tarot reader on speed dial, right? While spiritual work has existed long before mental health came into being, it was always - and continues to be - an unregulated field. On the other hand, mental health has grown rapidly in the past 100 years and is now recognized as a highly organized system embedded in science and culture with steep requirements for accreditation and a serious level of oversight.
Co-hosts Megan Lund and Ryan Marquardt sit with guest Ryan Hagan to compare and contrast our understandings of mental health and spirituality. Ryan takes us from the past to the present and peels back where we're heading in the future. From a young age, it was apparent Ryan had incredible psychic sensibilities, but he suppressed them early on. As life progressed, Ryan came into both mental health and spirituality as valid disciplines for his own healing, and for tools he can leverage to help heal other people. Looking forward, Ryan reveals where he thinks all this "stuff" is heading.
Ultimately, it's clear that the divide between mental health and spirituality is artificial and limiting. Not only can they intersect -- they can co-exist.
Ryan Hagan is a Nashville-based singer-songwriter, energy medicine practitioner, psychic-medium, and life coach. With gifts emerging since childhood, Ryan went off to college and became fascinated by the human mind. He studied Social Psychology and Communications and continued his journey advocating for mental health and wellness in the early days of his music career. Ryan’s globally-acclaimed music has topped the radio charts in the U.K. alongside Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and The Weeknd. Ryan is a multidisciplinary energy healer, Reiki Master, tarot reader, psychic medium and more, leveraging modalities including quantum touch, hypnotic meditative healing, past life regression.
