Authority in the Name of Jesus:

○ Revelation 1:18

■ The One Who has the Key is the authorized one. Jesus has the keys of

hell and death! He has authority over hell and death!

○ Matthew 28:18-19 Jesus said He has ALL authority, and then He delegated

that authority to the Church!

■ Mark 16:17 These accompanying signs follow those who believe in

Jesus’ Name!

● Cast out demons

○ Acts 19:11-20 It became evident that there is only

power in the Name, and in faith in the Name, of Jesus!

The Word of the Lord prevailed! Why? Because of the

Name of Jesus!

● Speak with new tongues

○ Acts 19:1-6

● Pick up serpents

○ Acts 28:1-7

● Drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them

○ Jesus meant this: “…and if they consume anything that

would normally be fatal, or anything that would usually

make a person sick, it will have no effect upon them.…” -

○ 1 Timothy 4:3-5 Nothing is to be refused if received

with thanksgiving, for it is sanctified by the Word of God

and prayer. It’s made clean by faith!

■ Know what God said (any deadly thing will not

hurt you)

■ Pray over your food and sanctify it to the Lord

■ Eat! Put action to your faith!

○ The same authority that the disciples had through the Name of Jesus is the

same authority that we have today

■ The Name of Jesus didn’t die with the first apostles

■ Jesus is the SAME yesterday, today and forever!

■ HEBREWS 13:8

■ If the Name of Jesus doesn’t work today, then people today cannot be

saved, for there is no other Name under heaven by which we’re saved!

Acts 4:12

○ Matthew 8:5-10

■ The Centurion’s faith was great because he knew who was master,

and who was servant: Sickness is the servant, Jesus is the master.

Poverty is the servant, Jesus is the master. Fear is the servant, Jesus is

the master. And the servant always obeys the master, regardless of

the command.

■ The centurion said the equivalent of, “Say the command! You are

master of sickness; you are master of diseas. You are master of

demons and the laws of nature. You simply speak, and they HAVE to

obey.”

○ Sickness and disease are servants of the Most High God: we have been

delegated all the Authority that Jesus has, so if sickness is His servant, than

it’s ours, too.

○ Instead of sickness and disease, lack, fear, anxiety, controlling you, you take

authority over them! You SPEAK to them! God has given you a voice: use it!

Victims are always voiceless, or they speak what their captor wants them to

say

■ Sickness wants you to talk sickness

■ Fear wants you to talk afraid

■ Anxiety wants you to say you’re anxious

■ Poverty wants you to speak lack

○ Come into agreement with God and what HE says about you!

➢ Conclusion:

○ Philippians 2:9-11 EVERY knee MUST bow! Every tongue MUST confess that

Jesus is Lord!
