Many of us grew up being taught the importance of community service - and throughout our school-age years, we are given plenty of opportunities to engage. Yet, as we get older, and we have less time on our hands, it can be difficult to make community a service a priority. But what is the point, anyway? Why should one be active in the community in which they live and work? Does what we do really make a difference. The answer is a resounding, "Yes!" Our communities - our cities, towns, municipalities, and neighborhoods are only as strong as the services they provide for one another - and are only as strong as those who serve within them. Kate and Kellie spend some time talking about all the benefits of community involvement, both for organizations in which you serve, and for yourself!
