HOW YA FEELING METS FANS??? The past two weeks have alternated between thrilling and crushing as the roller coaster ride of the 2024 season continued. In fact, as the season dwindled to a close, that roller coaster sped up, spun around some, and the brakes failed. It all led up to yesterday's unprecedented doubleheader and my GOODNESS what an ending. You might know that the Mets made the playoffs. You might not quite know how. Come on in and let us take you on the totally insane trip that did eventually lead to October Baseball. God Bless Francisco Lindor.
The Mets have a chance to accomplish something that should have been impossible. By going 17-7 since our last episode, the Amazin's are in the 3rd Wild Card spot in the NL but may have their sights on a larger prize. Tonight is the first of 7 games in 10 days against division-leading Philadelphia who currently sit 8 games ahead of the Mets in the standings with 16 games left to play in the season. Is it possible that these streaking, improbable, immaculate-vibes Mets could take down the division and erase the horrid memories of 2007? I don't know, but I wouldn't put anything past this squad. Man do we have 2 weeks of wild, white-knuckle baseball left. Enjoy the ride and if you like us, please like and share and subscribe and all that stuff. #LFGM bay beeeee!
Hey Baseball Fans, we are back to talk about a Mets team that finds itself in a Playoff chase. The wild swings of earlier in the season seem to be behind this team as we have seen much more consistent baseball of late. That doesn't make anything less wild though as we are deep in the midst of a Wild Card race. After a grueling 10-game/4-city/3-time-zone trip, the Mets are back at home trying to stave off a bunch of teams that don't seem to lose. Every game matters, and buckle up because there's 6 more weeks of this! Subscribe, like, share, and LFGM!
It's been a while since we really checked in on the Yankees and we bring our old friend Duanny B back to talk all things pinstripes. This...would have been a very different episode a month ago. While the Bronx Bombers have had a fantastic first half, the cracks are quickly beginning to show and it has our Yankees experts tearing his hair out. Are the Yankees set for another disappointing second half and an also-ran playoff run or will this year be different than the last two? We give you the good, the bad, and the ugly from 161st St. Enjoy!
Sooo we missed a lot on our break. I took off on a plane to Europe and apparently missed a lot. Talk about best of times/worst of times! The Mets were "the worst f'in team in the whole MLB" and then Grimace blessed the team with instant greatness and now I just don't know what to think. What is this team? We try our best to catch you up over the last month plus starting with how bad things were, how improbably great they became, and what to expect going forward. Tune in to find out the baseball reasons for the incredible turnaround and whether it is sustainable. Enjoy!
Welp this has not been a good week for the Mets by any stretch of the imagination. Playing against two divisional rivals, the squad was barely able to avoid sweeps in each series. Pitching hasn't been great, Edwin Diaz has been struggling, but it's the offense that has been just awful. It's another streak in a season full of them leaving us to wonder what this team truly is. After breaking down all of that dreck, we highlight a few players around the league having either really good or really starts to the year and what we expect out of them going forward. It's our last episode for a month, hopefully there's better ball to talk once we get back from our break!
May rolls in with another week of highs and lows for the Mets. We break down the split against the Cubs starting with the controversial Pete Alonso play at home, then move on to the dreadful performance against the Rays before talking about a promising pair of games against the Cardinals. Christian Scott's debut, the continued resurgence of Francisco Lindor, and hopefully a slump-busting performance from Alonso have us looking up just in time for a big set of divisional series. Plus it's the 8-year anniversary of one of the greatest home runs ever hit, so how could we be sad? We also check in on the Yankees for the first time this year. The Nephews are back to break down this week in Mets land. It's been more bad than good, however with some very exciting highlights including the debut of J.D. Martinez and a pair of brilliant and sorely needed starting pitching performances. We discuss what this rotation may look like in the near future as Tylor Megill, David Peterson, and Kodai Senga are all getting healthy quickly. Finally we take a healthy trip around the majors with an in-depth look at the current standings vs our preseason predictions. Check out our IG and Twitter (I'm never calling that thing x) to see how our predictions stand up!
We've been looking forward to this episode for a long time as Mets legend Dwight Gooden was good enough to take some time for an interview with us after a very busy week. At the end of a lengthy meet and greet at Murphy's Bar in Astoria, Dr. K was gracious enough to hang around a little longer for a pair of knuckleheads with a microphone. It also helps that the Mets had an outstanding week! Come for the Doc Gooden interview, stay for the breakdown of the Pirates sweep and surprising series victory against the vaunted Dodgers.
April is a weird baseball month. Last week the Mets looked like a 70 win team, now they look dangerous! We break down the squad taking the first series against the vaunted Braves including a game that could be remembered as a season defining win. From there we recap the Royals and look forward to the Pirates and Dodgers series. We're only a few days away from Doc Gooden's appearance at Murphy's Bar in Astoria! Friday, April 19th from 7-9pm, be there or be square!
