Additionally, it institutes new enforcement measures that allow law enforcement officers to verify the citizenship status of any individual found to have committed a criminal act. It also requires the denial of state services or benefits to visa holders who violate the law. Finally, it increases penalties for those convicted of document fraud or false identification.
